Early decay may look like white spots, yellow or brown marks, or rough areas on the tooth surface. More advanced cavities may cause holes, sensitivity, food trapping, bad taste, swelling, or pain while eating.
Some cavities are hidden between teeth and cannot be seen easily at home. If your child complains of pain, avoids chewing on one side, or has visible marks, book an examination before the decay spreads.
